Process for performing the study
At Genolife, we perform virus detection from samples obtained through urethral and cervicovaginal exudate.
Technique: PCR (polymerase chain reaction) HPV genotyping (21AR and 23BR)
Type: qualitative (detection)
Instructions for collecting urethral or cervicovaginal swab samples (HPV / STDs):
Do not use vaginal suppositories, creams, or douches for at least 24 hours beforehand.
Do not use topical medications on the area to be examined for at least 24 hours beforehand.
Do not have sex for 72 hours before taking the medication.
Do not perform aggressive intimate hygiene on the day of the test.
For men, it is recommended not to urinate for at least 2 hours before the urethral swab.
If you are taking antibiotics, wait at least 7 days after finishing the course before providing the sample.
